Microsoft Bringing Xbox App to Smart TV’s Starting with Samsung

Xbox on Smart TV

Microsoft will soon be brining Xbox to your TV without the need for a console.

Beginning June 30th in 27 countries, Microsoft will be bringing the Xbox app to 2022 Samsung Smart TV’s. Over time, the company intendeds to bring it to other TV partnerships as well.

If you have a 2022 Samsung Smart TV, all you will need is an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to get instant access to over 100 games. That of course includes Xbox Game Studios titles on the day of release.

All you will need is Game Pass Ultimate subscription and a Bluetooth-enabled controller, like the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, Elite Series 2 Controller, or even the PlayStation DualSense controller.

And of course, you’ll need a good enough Internet connection to stream games via Xbox Cloud.

Smith’s Sentiment: I don’t have a Samsung TV, and I just recently bought an Xbox Series S, so I don’t personally care much about this. However, the Cloud streaming stuff continues to get better and better. Thus, the ability to play high quality AAA titles without needing to own a console or high-end PC is very appealing. It opens up the market considerably by knocking down a barrier to entry.
