Bungie has detailed some Crucible changes coming to Destiny 2 in Season 17, which begins on Tuesday, May 24th:

Iron Banner is getting overhauled, with a reputation system like the other vendors and with focused engrams. Iron Banner will now be held just twice a season, and for Season 17 Iron Banner will be Rift, the mode making its long-awaited debut in Destiny 2.

You’ll be able to increase your Iron Banner reputation earnings by playing games, winning games, wearing Iron Banner armor (or as ornaments) and using Iron Banner weapons. There are four daily challenges to complete which will also buff your earnings 100% for each challenge. And finally, using an Iron Banner emblem will net you an additional 10% multiplier.

A new Iron Lord Seal and Title will be introduced, that should take most players around 15 to 20 hours to complete.

Finally, a new account based quest will have to be completed before gaining access to the Iron Banner node.

In addition to all of this, Bungie is introducing the first new PvP map in Destiny 2 since October 1, 2019. The new map is called Disjunction, and takes place on the swampy Pyramid area of Savathun’s Throne World.

Disjunction is said to be a symmetric map with three lanes, and is one of the largest maps yet. It will accommodate short, mid, and long-range combat. The map will go live when Season 17 begins, and will be in 6v6 and 3v3 modes.

Zone Control returns to Destiny 2 via the Crucible Labs node, and will be available every week except for when Iron Banner is active. You can read more about Zone Control here.
