What you believe is powerful. If you can change what you believe, you can change your life!
Many today are struggling to control their behaviors and actions because they don’t have control over their emotions and feelings. They don’t have control over their emotions and feelings because they don’t have control over their thoughts. And they don’t have control over their thoughts because they are not controlling what they believe.
Put simply, if you believe wrong, you will struggle with wrong thoughts, toxic emotions, and destructive addictions.

This book is not about Law of Attraction stuff though. It’s not a book that is promising you that you’ll have millions of dollars or a mansion simply because you will it so by believing it and picturing it.
Joseph Prince, a grace preacher, has a very successful ministry and is one of the founders/senior pastor for the Singapore based non-denominational “megachurch” New Creation Church. Through this church, Pastor Prince is seen in over 150 countries via his televised sermons. Charismatic and not afraid to mix in humor with his Jesus focused sermons, he’s gained a large and loyal following and has been able to write numerous popular books as a result.
The Power of Right Believing is Prince’s latest book, and in this book he lays out the seven keys to overcoming fear, addiction, and always feeling guilty. The keys are:
Believe In God’s Love For You
Learn To See What God Sees
Receive God’s Complete Forgiveness
Win The Battle For Your Mind
Be Free From Self-Occupation
Have A Confident Expectation Of Good
Find Rest In The Father’s Love
Now I’m not going to break down the keys for you; you can read the book for yourself, and I do recommend that you do so. What I will do though is talk about what the overall basis and message of the book is, and it’s pretty simple to understand.
It can basically be summarized as: “God loves you, sent his son to pay for your sins, and sees Jesus when he looks at you.” Sure, some might some fault with that quick line, but that is the very basic quick one line summary.
The message here is that no human being can live a sin free life. It’s just not going to happen; you’re a flawed person. But when you do sin, you should not beat yourself up over it and turn away from God and think He is embarrassed by or ashamed of you. You shouldn’t let a feeling of guilt keep you away from God.
Like Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, and some others, Joseph Prince gets a lot of flack from certain segments of the Christian community and preachers who preach a different message. There’s a whole lot of “he’s preaching a twisted, false interpretation of the Bible that is going to damn a lot of folks who buy into his grace based message.” Unfortunately, many Christians can simply holier than thou and will write off every person who doesn’t believe the exact same message they do as being basically heretical and a false teacher.
Joseph Prince preaches, and this is book all about it, a message of grace that is focused on Jesus and His “finished work.” That finished work being that when Jesus died on the cross, He took the punishment for the sins of everyone onto Him and anyone who believes in Jesus is under grace and saved.
The grace based faith does get a lot of flack for sounding like a get out of jail free card: go sin all you want, you’re good. That’s not the case, and that’s not what Prince preaches.
What he is saying though is that those who truly believe in Jesus, and knows that God loves them, will live and do accordingly as good people who strive not to sin. Of course you will sin, but just shake it off and don’t get discouraged about it. You shouldn’t let a stumble cloud your mind and make you think things that aren’t true; i.e. that God is disappointed in you, couldn’t possibly want anything to do with you, or is punishing you.
Throughout the book, Prince quotes and explains scripture and provides testimony from members of his congregation that have had breakthroughs. It’s all good stuff, and would prove to be quite motivational for folks who are believers, or at least open to believing, who are going through a tough time. Maybe you’re addicted to something and continue to feed that addiction because you think you’re alone and that you can’t possibly go to God with it because he sees your actions and is disgusted when he looks at you and sees a terrible person.
Instead, Prince argues that God sees His son Jesus when He looks at you, because He gave Jesus to the world to pay for your sins and save you. Focus your thoughts on believing and knowing that God loves you, at all times, and stop beating yourself up when you stumble and giving into negative thoughts about what you think God is thinking about you at that very moment.
The Power of Right Believing is a well-written book that makes for an easy, enjoyable read. Even if you don’t fully buy into the full on grace message, it is still a book that can easily make you feel better and presented in a manner where everything is going to make sense.

Of course the book is also available in paperback and on Kindle, and even audio CD if you prefer to have it read to you. No matter your preference, you should definitely pick this one up. This is recommended reading; it’s a good book and a good message.
